Top Tech Products of 2014: Bose SoundLink III and Samsung Galaxy Note 4

In our last post, we summarized why the Oculus Rift DK2 is number six on our list. We also discussed the iPhone 6 Plus at number five. Speaking of the iPhone 6 Plus, it makes a great companion with our number four item on the list, the Bose SoundLink III Bluetooth speaker.

Bose SoundLink III

4: Bose SoundLink III Bluetooth Speaker

When Bose came out with its very first SoundLink Bluetooth speaker in 2011, a lot of heads turned; people couldn’t believe a Bluetooth speaker could have such great sound. In 2014, the Bose SoundLink III speaker has not only garnered outstanding reviews, but it makes regular wired portable speakers irrelevant.

Some people complained that the first and second SoundLink Bluetooth speakers emphasized low ranges of audio too much and didn’t have enough of a balanced sound range. The Bose SoundLink III completely takes care of that. The sound it provides is warm, thumping, clear and soothing. We can hardly wait for the SoundLink IV.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

3: Samsung Galaxy Note 4

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which is number three on our list, is also a device that has received nearly perfect reviews. The Galaxy Note 4 even outdoes the excellent iPhone 6 Plus as a phablet and provides a smooth and useful smartphone experience. It also makes an excellent note-taking pad with the S Stylus.

The Galaxy Note 4 is not only a smartphone, but part of a virtual reality set. The phone, used in conjunction with the Gear VR, provides an excellent virtual reality experience, which we will talk more about in our next post of this year’s top tech products.

One improvement not mentioned much in regards to the Galaxy Note 4 is that Samsung has finally improved the audio drivers and one can get a similar audio experience to the iPod or iPhone. The Quad HD screen is a beauty; the screen appears to be looking at you rather than the other way around. If Samsung can make a product this wonderful, we wonder what’s in store for the Galaxy Note 5.
