This Week’s Best Technology Deals

It’s almost back to school time and here are three items that can definitely help a needy college student. Meanwhile, make sure you upgrade your PC laptop to Windows 10 this week.

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus NP940X3k 13.3-Inch Touchscreen Laptop

With the exception of the Dell XPS 13, this is the best Windows Ultrabook on the market. You can get it for $1499 at -- that's $200 of the regular price. Unlike most of the ultrabooks in this price range, the ATIV comes with an Intel Core i7 processor instead of one with a slower i5 processor. The i7 is great for gamers and power users. This particular Samsung ATIV has 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid-state drive. The 13.3-inch 3200 x 1800 pixel resolution display is, perhaps, the best display that exists right now for a laptop. Samsung is known for its colorful screens and this is certainly no different. This Samsung ATIV ultrabook (which has the power of a desktop) might take a bite out of your wallet, but it certainly gives back a lot.

Bose SoundTrue On-Ear Headphones

The Bose SoundTrue On-Ear Headphones are on sale for $119.99 at Target -- that's $30 off the regular price. If you don't need Bluetooth or noise cancellation, these are the headphones to get. Bose has a soothing sound that other companies have not been able to produce. These headphones produce strong, but not overpowering bass. The mid ranges and high ranges are there too -- a lot more than they are on Bose's pre-2012 headphones. The comfortable ear cushions isolate a lot of noise and are even comfortable to sleep with. You can make phone calls with these as well, but make sure you are away from a place with a lot of overbearing noise or wind.

Inland Pro Sleeve For iPad

The Inland Sleeve Pro for the iPad (10-inch) may not be the strongest iPad case around. However, for $5.96 -- that's $15 off the regular price -- you can't get a better buy. You think you don't need a sleeve for your iPad? Think again. The iPad screen may have so-called "Gorilla Glass," but it could still break easily. In fact, your iPad can even get small scratches that you don't notice until you view the iPad (with the screen off) in direct sunlight. You should always get a screen protector, but double off by getting a protection sleeve. The Inland Pro is more than adequate for your iPad.
