Facebook Announced Facebook Home for Android and First Facebook Phone

Facebook just officially released their newest Facebook experience named “Home”. Home will completely convert your existing Android smart phone, shifting it ever so close to a completely Facebook integrated device. The group of applications that form Home are essentially the same idea as a launcher for Android.

When powering up their Facebook phone, the user will greeted by the new “CoverFeed”,
an essential-only version of the News Feed. The CoverFeed will be an ever-updating newspaper of what is happening in your social life. It will integrate the latest links being shard, your Facebook Messages, and status update.

Along with Home, Facebook unveiled a new app called Chat Heads, which brings all the
Facebook messaging application features and SMS to the forefront of your home-screen.  The user could simply tap on a friend’s photo to fire up the messaging thread.

Facebook Home will launch on April 12th on selected devices and will be available for download in the Google Play store. The first phones that will get Home will be the HTC One, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2.

The world’s first true Facebook phone was named First made by HTC. It will be available in four colors and cost $99 on April 12th, with pre-orders starting today. The First will come pre-loaded with Facebook Home and will be exclusive to AT&T. The following is its technical specifications.
