It finally happened: There are finally Bluetooth Wireless Headphones available that sound just as good as most high-end wired headphones. Bowers & Wilkins have made quality headphones for years, but they finally hit a home run with the P5 Wireless.
It’s important to note that the P5 Wireless will cost you $399. It’s also important to note that they are worth every penny. They are certainly worth more than any pair of wireless headphones Beats, Bose, Sennheiser, or even Sony has ever made. The one thing missing is active noise cancellation, but the active noise cancellation in most wireless headphones doesn’t work well enough to justify paying extra in the first place.
The first thing you will notice after taking the P5 Wireless out of the box is how well designed they are. The leather pads are built perfectly and they put enough of a cushion on your ears to block out some noise. They are so comfortable that you’ll feel a surge of uncomfortableness when you take them off. Unlike other headphones, the P5 Wireless can be used for several hours without causing an ounce of discomfort.
The fit is very comfortable and you can wear them while weightlifting without having to worry about them falling off your head. The sweat issue isn’t a big deal on the P5 Wireless — at least not as much as it is on headphones by Beats and Sony. It would be hard to find a pair of headphones more comfortable than the P5 Wireless.
Of course, the sound is what matters the most. The P5 Wireless sound is a breakthrough in Bluetooth headphones. The P5 Wireless offers sound comparable to wired headphones from Bose or Sony. Those of you who love over-exaggerated bass may be slightly disappointed. The bass on the P5 Wireless is prevalent, but it doesn’t blow year ears off — which is practically what a lot of listeners want these days.
What the P5 offers is high quality sound at every single range: the highs, mediums, and lows are all there and don’t dominate each other. While Sony and Beats headphones sacrifice the middles for the lower ranges of Bass, the P5 Wireless sound is a lot more balanced. Listening to EDM is especially a pleasure because not only do you get the “thumps” from the bass, but you get clarity as well.
The P5 Wireless can also be used to take phone calls and the sound quality is way above average. The only other Bluetooth headset that compares is the Bose SoundLink On-Ear headphones. The fact that the P5 has two microphones for better accuracy certainly helps.
Those of you who have spent years trying to find the perfect pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones now have a reason to celebrate. The Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless headphones are a technological breakthrough.
